Sights and Sounds of Dubai

Middle East tours

Dubai is a one-of-a-kind city that has to be seen to be believed. It is an artful blend of shopping malls, extravagant hotels, amazing dining options and fantastic night life with ancestral songs, dance and tradition. Whether you come for the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) or the fascinating Heritage Village during Ramadan you will not be disappointed. In the newly restored Bastakiya district there are local houses on the creek that used to be cooled by ecologically sound wind towers. It is a quiet area with a museum, cafes, art galleries and a street market every Saturday.

Cheap flights to Dubai are readily available to take you to a city that will treat you like a VIP. One of the seven United Arab Emirates, Dubai is an independent city-state and is very modern and progressive. They have perfected shopping as entertainment and welcome tourists like family. Bring a sweater or shawl because the malls are air conditioned to ice cold.

Sights and Sounds of Dubai

Shopping is not the only reason to visit a Dubai mall. The Mirdiff City Center Mall offers iFly, a vertical wind tunnel where visitors can experience flying. They give instructions and protective gear for you to have the best possible time.

A favorite destination for immigrants to get jobs, there are large sections of the city dedicated to different cultures. This is one of the reasons it has such a great selection for dining. Dubai has excellent infrastructure and the Burj Khalifa which is the tallest building in the world.

Dubai flights are frequent from Europe and Asia, and the Burj al Arab is just one of the impressive hotels in Dubai and worth seeing even if you don't stay there. It is the first seven star hotel in the world and shaped like a giant sail on the edge of the sea.

Satwa is a section of Dubai called Little India. Gold and textiles are sold along with inexpensive Indian and Filipino cuisine. The gold souq (bazaar) has rows of storefronts full of gold jewelery. You can see why it's called the City of Gold.

Bur Dubai is the historical district from Jumeirah to the creek which separates Bur Dubai from Deira the commercial area. The creek is a fascinating place to watch the dhows (traditional boats) and abras (water taxis) navigate the water.

Riding the sand dunes is a desert adventure to enjoy. In 4WD Toyota Land Cruisers you drive up and down the huge sand dunes and through wadis or springs. Experience endless sand from an air conditioned vehicle. Spend the night in a Bedouin tent in the desert and drink the traditional hot, sweet tea.

From the desert to the beach. Beautiful sandy beaches complete with all night entertainment. Even dine underwater in the Atlantis Hotel. Then, head for the hills and the indoor ski slope.

It is easy to get cheap flights to Dubai and enjoy the sunny skies all year-round. A clean, safe, friendly city it satisfies all of your holiday fantasies in one place.
